“SUPPORT WITHOUT STIGMA”
Our philosophy is simple – support for all, without stigma. What that means is we work with many different groups of people and focus on you as an individual to help you make the most of what we have to offer. What we love about the arts is its versatility and inclusivity. Open to everyone, with benefits for all. There are so many different avenues to be explored, from role play and graphic design to filming and photography.
We help people to learn different skills whilst inspiring them to realise their full potential. Our overarching goal is to build self-esteem, self-belief and help people to feel comfortable and confident as they take their first steps on a journey of transformation. We show our beneficiaries how to use this to their advantage, showcasing the tools that we have under the huge umbrella of the arts, such as photography, film, writing and crafts.
From an early age Alchemy founder Adil understood that there was a stigma attached to people accessing support, especially from BAME communities. Traditional methods of tackling taboo subjects tend to have a cultural stigma attached to them.
We offer sensitive support in the form of creative workshops, classes and outreach projects to enable people to access the help they need without fear of repercussions. Drawing on Adil’s own personal experience, we use the arts and creative media to help people build confidence, foster friendships, learn new skills and feel included.
WHAT WE DO
We create spaces that allow people to be able to take the next step on their journey, wherever that may be, in a way that’s right for them.
From technology courses to sports clubs and art classes, think of Alchemy as a revolving door you can pass through onto bigger, better things along life’s journey. We specialise in creating innovative ways to help people reach their full potential. See our projects and case studies here.
WHO WE ARE
We are a unique social enterprise passionate about helping people to succeed through innovation and creativity.
Our name ‘Alchemy’ best describes what we do. Traditionally, Alchemists were scientists that would manipulate basic materials and transform them into precious metals. Our goal is to follow in the footsteps of the great ‘social alchemists’ that have gone before us – but instead of manipulating metals, we play a part in positive transformational change in human lives.
Our vision is to see people succeeding no matter what their initial circumstances have been, despite the challenges they have faced.
Our projects support many different groups, from young people and South Asian women to the elderly and people struggling with mental illness and addiction.
