Get Me Work Ready
What is the get me work ready programme?
The ‘Get Me Work Ready’ is our latest innovative social prescribing project that we’ve split in to supporting two cohorts.
The first aims to encourage local women within Greater Manchester to have a voice and realise their true potential, with a major focus on those experiencing social exclusion as well as south Asian women facing barriers accessing relevant services to address needs.
The second is working with a younger group who are looking for employment through the job centre.
Through this project we want to create a holistic support network, and our overarching aim is to use a creative and bespoke delivery model to empower participants to take control of their own lives.
We want to work with them creatively and support them in consolidating their roles and capabilities within the local community.
This is achieved through enhancing their social, political, economic and cultural participation, furthering the confidence needed to continue their integration into mainstream culture.
The Get Me Work Ready project gives local participants an opportunity to come together in a culturally appropriate, safe environment to meet new people and create lasting friendships.
The programme has several key workshops that give participants a clear road map to professional self-improvement as well as enhancing their future life chances.
We are really excited about this initiative because it fits into our ‘support without the stigma’ motto that allows us to reach the people who are the most vulnerable in society but at the same time provides a service that is conscious of the cultural taboos to accessing support, allowing them a gateway to support and upholding their dignity.
